AI Act
Article 13
Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 requires high-risk AI systems to be designed and developed in such a way as to ensure sufficient transparency to allow deployers (the professional operators using the system) to interpret outputs and use them appropriately. Within the architecture of the AI Act, it is the piece that articulates the provider's duty of transparency to the deployer, distinct from the duty of explanation owed to the affected person (Article 86) and from human oversight (Article 14). Treated in Opening the Black Box on the architecture of the explanation regime.
