About
I read primary research from the frontier AI labs (Anthropic, DeepMind, OpenAI) and try to articulate its legal and philosophical consequences for a reader without a machine learning background. I am a second-year law student at the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto.
What I care about: alignment, the epistemic foundations of AI regulation, and the way legal systems absorb (or fail to absorb) new kinds of agency. The AI Act and what follows it (the new European regime on liability for defective products, the delegated acts still being prepared) will be more consequential than most European lawyers and legislators currently suspect. The distance between the people who design these systems and the people who will adjudicate them is dangerous.
I build as well as write. I am the author of Dicta, a platform for the analysis of Portuguese court decisions. The engine combines semantic search over Gemini embeddings with answer generation through the Claude API.
